Look out for
HTTPS in secure areas
Generally
websites use a standard connection
called
HTTP but secure websites
use an encrypted connection called
HTTPS (The S stands for
Secure and comes from an
SSL certificate). Here's
how you can tell whether or not a
website's connection is secure. Our
homepage uses http as you can see
below. There is no reason for a
secure connection on our homepage as
customers don't need to enter any
details. As soon as you login or
click APPLY NOW you enter a secure
area where your personal/banking
details that you submit are
encrypted. Should any
information be intercepted, it will
be unintelligible without the unique
key used for decryption.

Getting a HTTPS connection means you
are a reputable organization.
Look out for the lock icon
Another tell-tale
sign of a secure website is the lock
icon which usually appears in the
bottom right-hand corner of your web
browser.
